SD Islam Al Azhar 11 Surabaya recently held a series of events to commemorate Isra Mi’raj, the ascension of the Prophet Muhammad to heaven. It symbolizes the Prophet Muhammad’s unique status as a messenger of God and his close relationship with the divine. Through this journey, he received the commandment of the five daily prayers for Muslims.
This extraordinary experience is mentioned in the Quran in the first verse of Surah Al-Isra
“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (QS. 17:1)
The events were held to teach students of SD Islam Al Azhar 11 Surabaya about the history and significance of this important event in Islam.The commemoration began with a morning walk, followed by a prayer activity, a wall magazine competition, a sholawat competition, and a “Ranking 1” competition. The events were attended by all students from primary 1 to 6, who were enthusiastic and excited to participate.
The morning walk was held to promote health and fitness among students. The students walked around the school complex while Sholawat. After the morning walk, the students participated in a prayer activity. The activity was intended to teach students how to pray properly.
The wall magazine competition was held to allow students to express their creativity and knowledge about Isra Mi’raj. The students were divided into groups and were asked to create wall magazines about the events of Isra Mi’raj. The results of the students’ work were very creative and informative.
The sholawat competition was held to teach students about the importance of praying for the Prophet Muhammad. The students competed to recite sholawat in the most beautiful and melodious way. There were awards for the winner of the sholawat competition.
The “Ranking 1” competition was a quiz about the history of Islam and Isra Mi’raj. The students participated enthusiastically in this competition. The winners of the competition were awarded prizes.
The series of Isra Mi’raj commemoration events at SD Islam Al Azhar 11 Surabaya went smoothly and successfully. The students were very enthusiastic and happy to participate in the various activities. The events were not only fun but also educational. The students learned a lot about the history and significance of Isra Mi’raj.
The events were able to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of Islam. In addition, the events were also able to foster a sense of togetherness and enthusiasm among students. We hope that the students can take the lessons learned from these activities and apply them in their daily lives. Also, we hope that these activities can increase students’ love for Islam.
