The halls of SD Islam Al Azhar 11 Surabaya buzzed with excitement on Monday, July 14, 2025, as the school held its Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (MPLS), or School Environment Introduction Period. This annual event is a vital step in helping new students acclimate to their new surroundings, make friends, and feel comfortable in their educational journey.
The morning commenced with a solemn and heartfelt recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, setting a spiritual tone for the day’s activities. This was followed by a resounding rendition of Indonesia Raya, the Indonesian national anthem, instilling a sense of patriotism and unity among the students, teachers, and parents present. The harmonious voices then joined in singing Mars Al Azhar, the anthem of the Al Azhar educational institutions, further solidifying their connection to the school’s values and community.
The official opening of the MPLS was graced by the presence of Mrs. Ernovilinda, M.Hum., Head of the International Curriculum Section at YPI Al Azhar. Her welcoming remarks emphasized the importance of a supportive and engaging learning environment, reassuring parents and inspiring students as they embarked on this new chapter.
Adding a touch of wonder and joy to the occasion, a captivating magic show delighted the young audience, filling the air with laughter and awe. This playful interlude perfectly balanced the more formal aspects of the day, ensuring the students felt excited and entertained.
